Olley then moved to New York City where he pursued a career in radio broadcasting with the ABC Radio Network. He worked at ABC Radio for eighteen years until he retired in 1978. His radio career included working with major personalities including Jack Paar, Harry Reasoner, Mike Wallace, Dick Cavett and Bill Cosby.

He also did radio commercials for Coca-Cola, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), and many others. Olley was also involved in television commercials for Coca-Cola, KFC and Lever Brothers Chewing Gum (Chewing Gum). Olley has done several movies including The Blues Brothers (1980), which starred Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi.
